Tourist boat accident leaves four dead - TW
A sightseeing daytrip turned tragic yesterday afternoon when a boat taking tourists to Hsiao Liuchiu (???) island caught fire and sank shortly after leaving Tungkang Township (??) in Pingtung County. Four people drowned and more than 30 were injured in the accident.
The boat's captain, 52-year-old Chang Chien-Kun (???), was among those killed.

According to a statement from the Coast Guard Administration (CGA), the tourist boat Kuan-kuang Hao (???) departed at 12:20pm for Hsiao Liuchiu island, about a half-hour's ride away, carrying 142 passengers and seven crew. Ten minutes later the blaze started. As the flames and smoke grew more intense, some passengers panicked and jumped into the water.

According to passengers, as the fire raged, Chang distributed all the boat's available life jackets, then jumped without a life vest into the water.

Can any of you imagine Bush being the captain?

1. He'd grab several life vest and jump in the life boat
and shoot anyone who tried to join him.

After letting a few strong men aboard to row the boat -- or one who could start the engine of the life boat.

The media would then make up stories about how tall bush is -- and how he was going for help.

4. Why didn't the captain use a life vest? The boat only had 145/180 people.

5. Boats didn't even have PFDs until Chen became President.
So at least he's helping out the Taiwanese as much as he can. I can see that these are high quality PFDs too. Looks like they could float two people.

Another thing, 95% of Taiwanese cannot swim so I'm sure it was a total panic situation even wearing PFDs.
