Cops to escort Congo trains
Brazzaville - Authorities of the freight rail service that links Republic of Congo's capital to the port of Pointe Noire hope to increase security on the line by putting police escorts on trains, Radio-Congo reported Friday.

The trains that run from the capital, Brazzaville, to the coastal economic hub, Pointe Noire, had been escorted by the military, but the soldiers have been accused of extorting money from passengers, stealing from the trains' cargos, and allowing clandestine passenger to travel against payment of an illegal fare.
