Egypt Bans Jim Carrey God Flick
Authorities have banned the American film "Bruce Almighty,'' starring Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman, from being shown here in Egypt, saying it infringes on God's sacredness, the state film censor said Friday.

Madkour Thabit, who heads the state-run censorship body responsible for audio and visual productions, criticized the movie for featuring "actors playing the role of God."

"The name of the movie -- 'Bruce Almighty' -- indicates that there is someone who can do anything and everything," Thabit said in a statement faxed to The Associated Press. "Such traits belong only to God."

I saw an interesting science report about how we don't even know if Roman soldiers wore socks. And since this was after the time of the Bible it started to make me think how the scientists know the Bible is a real story or a fairy tale?

It seems pretty stupid. I think Egyptian authorities have done their citizens a favor.

2. Movies in Egypt must be really boring!
This type of censorship stifles creativity and hinders the free flow of ideas. Also, they didn't like The Matrix: Reloaded and I kind of liked it.

3. It was entertaining. Sounds like they have alot in common with Ashcroft
and Bushie. Silly, to take it to that extreme.
