Anyone see the piece on CNN about the injured soldier?
It was about a soldier who is a quadrapalegic due to suffering a broken neck when a wall fell on his tank. At the end, his FATHER asked why Bush hadn't come by to see his son, and wondered why he wouldn't, since the kid was there defending his country. Wonder if CNN will air any more pieces of this kind-and if the fact that Chimpy is more interested in money than wounded will finally get out to the general population.

1. well, surely sooner or later these naive people will have to admit
Edited on Sat Nov-15-03 06:55 PM by Marianne
that their sons and daughters are not there to "defend" their country! That is the first mistake and to believe such is truly naive and pitifully dependant. The second naive mistake is to assume that Bush is going to acknowledge their deaths pr their injuries by attending a funeral or giving any of them any of his time. He is simply just too busy in his campaign pursuits and money making speeches and his campaign luncheons and dinners to give to those youngsters who are slaves to this AWOL commander in chief and his dumbassed wife and his court. He treats them like shit.

He has deserted those who died for him--not for their country but for him! Bush has made sure that the coffins arrive in the dead of night--and made sure that no publicity, no honor whatsoever will be given to these boys and girls who were jerked over to an unjust war based upon lies, for Bush's personal gain, and for nothing else. They are "honored" by being snuck back into the country under cover. Is any of their family still stubbornly supportive of this coward of an AWOL commander in chief who like dressing up in military costumes and prancing about on the decks of a carrier like a real soldier that he never was? If so--I have nothing further to say.

2. Doesn't that ingrate know
that the Bushman needs tons of money if he is to have any hope of reselection? Strongarming his base takes lots of his time.

Unpatriotic ingrate.

5. CNN story
I did see that CNN piece and it was very moving. Apparently this soldier doesn't get any medals or benefits because it was an "accident" instead of a result of combat. What always amazes me is how these guys keep going...of course CNN wouldn't show us someone who was depressed or suicidal. They need to show "born on the 4th of July" again so we know what it's like to come home broken.
