Is it okay that Saddam gassed the Iranians?
What if his argument was ..."I did it to end the war quicker"....

Same logic as used in 1945 for the Nuking of, not one, but two civilian population centers. Whereas Saddam was targeting troops. Not that I'm trying to excuse the action but, oh the hypocrisy.....

2. Hey, that's different
After all, he was carrying a different flag. Makes all the difference in the world when the books are written.

3. Is it okay that Iranians gassed the Iraqis
The problem cuts both ways. The Iran/Iraq war was filled with violations of international law... the two sides were openly supported by the cold war adversaries and their satellite states.

4. As for him gassing his own people,
I wouldn't bet against it (funny to say that after the Pentagon's futures contracts fiasco), but I've also heard that the Iranians may have gassed the Iraqis also.

Rumsfeld's Memo to self: I guess we should stop handing out WMD's whenever a president feels like it. You never know who they could be used against.

5. Hey...
Saddam put a few hundred pounds of poison in Iraq's air...which makes him a monster to be removed at any cost....

So what does that make Saudi Doody, who's allowing his friends to put millions of TONS of carcinogens and other toxins in the air and water?

6. The people who were gassed...
Were gassed with a blood agent. Think:cyanide or something like that. At the time, the CBW weapons that Iraq possed were blister agents. Think: Mustard Gas. However, the Iranians were known to possess blood agent weapons. The CBW was deployed during an artillery battle between the two.

Please: Get the facts correct. At the very least.
