End of Joseph Kony in Sight, Says Army (Uganda)

THE UPDF anti-LRA campaign is registering good results and the end of Joseph Kony is now in sight, the Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, has said.

"We are now on top of the situation. Our rolling strategy of cleaning up northern Uganda and southern Sudan is paying off.

There is a lot of light at the end of the tunnel," Aronda told journalists at the UPDF's 4th Division headquarters in Gulu yesterday.

Yesterday, another top LRA rebel commander, Major David Isaiah Loum, the battalion commander of Terwanga BN under the Siria Brigade, defected to the UPDF in Gulu.
