Halliburton KBR has "misplaced" about 1/3 of all their equipment in Iraq
(snip)

Halliburton is providing services to U.S. troops under a contract that has generated $3.2 billion in revenue so far.

"This occurred because KBR did not effectively manage government property," Bowen wrote. "As a result, we projected that KBR could not account for 6,975 property items from an inventory of 20,531 valued at $61.1 million."

Halliburton is under investigation by the Justice Department for allegedly overcharging the military by $61 million for fuel purchases.

3. Dang! I gotta get a job selling to the gubmint...
...war profiteering seems so damn, uh, profitable!

Enough of this penny-ante working for living crap. I want to conduct massive, wholesale fraud.

Suppose it's too late for my Dad to run for President?

Won't the Iraqi people be happy when their gubmint attains the level of democratic principles and squeaky clean operation that we are exampling for them??? I mean just think of it... then they can have their own Democratic Underground and hash things out... oh wait... if they are closing down papers..... nevermind.

7. I really hate to say anything that would exculpate Halliburton in anythin,
but, I wonder how much stuff has been lost in attacked convoys or stolen in transit or on site, due to general level of confusion and attacks. If Robert Fisk is only half right, the situation in Iraq is truly grim. Nothing, however, excuses gouging level prices for fuel, that is unless they're losing half of it in blown up convoys.
