Leave Iraq fast:divide in 3 for no civil war, then bring marines home a |
|
month from the day this plan begins.
Maybe about Feb. 20th, a month after Kerry sits down in the Oval Office for his 8 year reelected presidency, to be followed by Kucinich's 8 year twoterm presidency.
dividing Iraq in three.. kurds, shias, sunnis... avoids civil war. Keep only marine bases there to control any terrorist training camps that arise.
would it work? am i wrong? Open to polite correction.

Let me think about it. I really believe that is the way the UN would see it, and it might be satisfactory to all parties, except the US neo-con freaks.

at one time was iraq actually three nations? your solution has been in my mind for so long. tribal culture there is centuries old and only a brutal dictator could control the clash. now the idea of democracy which excludes the no go zones (always refered to as the "slums") for voting also means without representation. when kerry speaks about winning the peace in iraq he mentions their tribal culture. i think you are right on with your idea. think it real hard - the collective spirit is hungry for solutions to this madness and carnage

dividing up, directly or incidentally, its neighbors has been a long-standing policy of theirs.

7. You're making several assumptions here |
|
a) That Iraqis want to be divided, like Gaul, into 3 smaller countries
b) That civil war would be averted by doing so. Wars, after all, are fought across borders all the time.
c) That 3 separate countries, even without a civil war, would be any happier with US Marine bases there then, than they would be now.
d) That 'terrorist' training camps couldn't operate in a thousand other places in the world just as easily.
