Iraq as a "wake up" to the CON game
Will the botching of this ill advised occupation catch up with Bu$h and his neoCONS?
In other words, with more and more critic coming out lately, even from within the CON circles, will Iraq erode the Republican/corporate media con game to the point where the citizens wake up at least enough to realize half of what's going on?

I am starting to see signs that the wheels are coming off for the bushies.

1. I haven't noticed yet.
The wheels should have already come off.

2. I think the whole premise is wrong
I don't think people will "wake up" or that the criticism will make the "wheels come off," because I think people understood what was going on pretty well even before the election. I think people know that we're having much greater difficulty in Iraq then we'd expected. Our soldiers, and Iraqis, are dying, and there is a growing Iraqi resistance, especially in the Sunni Triangle. However, even knowing this, I think people still support the Iraq War - and all this was true before the election.

Again, before the election, conservatives witheld criticisms, as there was no point making the election more difficult for President Bush. They may have disagreed with him, but they disagreed with Kerry even more. Of course, the election is over now, so this is the time to try to influence those decisions.

Basically, I disagree with the underlying assumption of your question. I think that we, the country as a whole, understand the situation in Iraq pretty well already - no need to "wake up."

4. Right. We understand that there were no WMDs and no Al Qaeda link
You are dreaming. People don't have a clue as to what's going on in Iraq. They believe the propaganda 100%, just like you do.

Sucker!

3. No
Americans like war and by and large blame the whole middle east for 9/11. Good luck changing this.
