If the Colorado Democratic Party is for gun control and against CCW,
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 11:47 AM by jody
then why doesn't its state platform include statements to that effect?

Could it be that Colorado Democrats are divided on those issues and they left them out of their platform to avoid conflict?

QUOTE
9. PUBLIC SAFETY
We believe that violent criminals should be imprisoned, and we favor the exploration of alternative sentencing for non-violent offenders.

We support programs that prevent crime, especially through early intervention and diversion among young people.

1. I'm hoping that this "alternative sentencing" isn't a backdoor
for white-collar criminals to get off scotfree...yet again.

2. Capital punishment man
were locking people up for up to 50 years for various things, costing money and wrecking lives, i say a whip, a podium and restraints and seats will only cost around $10,000 and it will punish a million people.

4. Where Did You Reach THAT Conclusion, Jody?????
If the party is for or against something, that's what's in the platform.

And BTW, as a delegate to my Country Assembly, I helped approve that platform.

5.  Country Assembly?
I'd believe county assembly but country assembly seems a bit over zealous. I hope the platform you approved allowed for concealed carry of private firearms.

8. I reach that conclusion because as written, the CO Dem Platform does
not take a position either for or against RKBA issues. Other states have taken firm positions on RKBA and that prompts the question "What is Colorado's Dem Party position on RKBA?"
