Texas and Ohio NRA endorsements |
|
The NRA's "Political Victory Fund" is not releasing nationwide endorsements for the General Election until the fall, apparantly, but they've thrown open the Ohio and Texas ones. And yes, some of those getting the nod are Democrats. http://www.nrapvf.org/ELECTIONS/State.aspx?y=2008&State=OHhttp://www.nrapvf.org/ELECTIONS/State.aspx?y=2008&State=TXJust thought I'd mention it.

If I can remember correctly, the NRA endorsed Gov. Strickland, and he's been a pretty good gov. at least in my opinion. He's done some good things for us CCWers, and other gun laws in general. Strickland for PRESIDENT LOL!

2. I agree and I'm not a Democrat, |
|
not a Republican either. Strickland says he supports the 2A, the NRA did endorse him, his voting record over years in the house proved his 2A cred to me. He got my vote and I'm happy with him. He was a Rep in a rural Appalachian Ohio district where anything other than full 2A support would have doomed him from the start and now that he's Gov for all of the state, the paranoid gun-grabbing cities of Columbus and Cleveland, he hasn't changed a bit. Strickland for president in 2012. It'll never happen though, he's not a bootlick, just an honest, dedicated public servant.

He got rid of the stupid "in plain sight" law for concealed carry in cars and Columbus assualt weapons ban. He's good in my book.

5. Did they overturn the Columbus assault weapons ban? |
|
I know the "in plain sight" CCW garbage got the boot. I live just outside the city limits so it didn't apply to me but I grew up inside town. And I sure as hell was against it. The NRA canceled their national convention because of it. I'm sure all the city leaders were fine with that though. The convention center is always booked, Vegas and New York have nothing on us. Yeah, Columbus, Oh. tourist mecca of the lower 48, right.

Columbus's assualt weapons ban is no more. It was a bullshit ban anyway, as you could drive through columubus with an "assualt Weapon" and you were completely within the law, you could just not have said weapon in the house, but even if you got cought, it was only a misdermenor.

4. The NRA rated Don Siegelman of Alabama A+ over Bob Riley's grade of A but the GOP machine |
|
used by Karl Rove for a vendetta against Siegelman convened a kangaroo federal court with a Bush crony judge and a Bush crony federal prosecutor to convict Siegelman and then humiliated him by marching him in chains immediately to federal prison before he could appeal.
As Maximus said to Commodus in the movie Gladiator, "I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."
