Senators tell AG to back off on gun control
Senators tell AG to back off on gun control

By MATTHEW DALY • Associated Press Writer • March 10, 2009

WASHINGTON — Democratic Sens. Max Baucus and Jon Tester have a message for the Obama administration: they will oppose any gun restrictions the new administration may be considering.

"If it even smells like gun control, rest assured that Max Baucus will be standing in the way," Kaiser said Wednesday.

Patrick Devlin, a spokesman for Tester, said Tester's opposition to gun control in "part of who he is as a Montana Democrat."

A joint news release from the two senators quotes Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock, a Democrat, as applauding the stand taken by Baucus and Tester.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer said he also agreed with the letter. He was confident that any gun control bill would be easily defeated.

Now we just need a little commitment from a few more of our Senators and Congressmen and I will breath a little easier.

7. No! Americans are dying every day because of these NRA thugs with guns.
The poster was saying that the semate should never back off of gun control because people were dying every cay because of the NRA thugs with guns. Well if we are going to ban guns because people are dying every day, then we better ban all these other things because MORE people are dying every day because of them. You can't blame the tool, the criminal mind will always find a different way to commit their crime.

8. I am an 'NRA thug', what are you blabbering about?
I am an 'NRA thug'. I have shot no one. I know about 100 NRA thugs and not one has killed anyone. I probably associate with 1000 more NRA thugs with guns and none of them have killed anyone.

What are you blabbering about?

And it is very cool. Democrats rock -- especially many of the newer ones.

10. Senators with guns
Edited on Tue Mar-24-09 12:30 AM by rq4a

How many senators do you see who have previously carried concealed guns, presently carry concealed guns, or have concealed guns close at hand?

1, 2, 3, or 4?

Don't know the facts on whether any of them carry/carried concealed, but

#1 - TEC-9
#2 - Hungarian SA85
#3 - 12ga Shotgun
#4 - 4oz Shotglass

Don Pardo, tell me what I've won!

:)

17. Senators Packing Heat
That photo was taken shortly after they all voted for tighter gun control laws.

Seriously.

One previously carried a .357 magnum concealed. Melted a .38 special as a show of anti-gun support, but kept the .357.
One has a very very rare New York unrestricted license to carry a concealed gun. I don't know what make or model.
One has actually taken human life with a gun by shooting a man in the back. To be fair, it was in a war.
One doesn't carry any guns, but an Uzi is always near by for his protection.

16. Schumer has an elites-only NYC concealed carry license,
Feinstein is known to have had two .38 "Saturday Night Specials" and a 9mm semiautomatic on a California concealed carry permit and is rumored to have used the "Congressperson as Federal LEO" loophole to carry in D.C., and one of Kennedy's bodyguards was once caught trying to enter the U.S. Capitol with a full-auto submachinegun, as I recall.
