I've got a REAL PROBLEM with gum nuts......
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 10:59 PM by Pert_UK
The bloody things are all over the road here in Australia and they richochet up under the van when I run over them.....Noisey and damaging! And don't even THINK about trying to cycle through a pile of them under a gum tree, you'll be all over the place!

What did you think I meant?

Just a little light relief to lighten the mood.......if it gets moved to the Lounge then so be it.

I still haven't had the opportunity to go shooting on a farm here, but may still get a chance in the next few months. I find it quite difficult to accept that shooting parrots is OK though, even if they are a huge pest for farmers and there are millions of the buggers. It's just so completely alien to me.......and anyway, I'll only be target shooting if I do anything.

2. there's plenty to shoot in OZ
apart from the ferals like foxes and rabbits which like parrots cause farmers hassle but unlike parrots are not native and damage indigenous flora and fauna, however if killing dumb animals offends you can always go spotlighting at Canberra the noxious pests there deserve it!

5. Big problem here in Southern California too
A gum nut once fell from a large tree and broke a lens in my eyeglasses.

It was supposed to be tempered, shatterproof glass but it was old and probably fatigued from several years of rough wear by a much younger version of me.
