Would-be burglar gets lead instead (Georgia, where it's legal to defend yourself)
ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A Moultrie burglary victim was ready when someone tried to break in on her again Tuesday night. She opened fire and shot the intruder.

Tamika Seay's home on Second Avenue Southeast was broken into March 12th. So she went out and bought a gun, and Tuesday night when she heard someone breaking in again, she grabbed it, and started shooting.

Michael Daniels was hit by a bullet. He ran out of the house, but later showed up at a hospital.

Police say he will be charged with burglary.

Nothing in the article indicating the shooter is facing any type of charge.

1. But... But...
Waiting periods are for the common good... How did she get the gun so fast? How dare someone just go out one day, wanting to buy a gun, and be able to come home with one that very same day.

:sarcasm:

7. Yeah..
She should have been rich or politically connected instead, then she could have either hired bodyguard or had a police cruiser stationed outside her home.

Damn wreckless working class with their gun-nuttery.

:sarcasm:

11. Or learned some fancy martial arts moves.
Of course that would take some time, so maybe she should have just got a dog.

10. No, he must have known about the gun and become emboldened to try to steal it

13. The criminal became emboldened
To embark, immediately, upon a physical fitness regimen which required sprints on an injured foot.

8. I love hearing about
The innocent protecing themselves legally and successfully from dangerous criminals.

The real question is, why do YOU have a problem with it?

I won't hold my breath for an honest response.

12. As has been pointed out to you, this is NOT gun porn.
Gun porn involves pictures of guns, and this post is decidedly without pictures of guns.

9. That shooting would be lawful in most states including California
It's legal to defend yourself everywhere. Details about the circumstances under which use of deadly force is protected by castle doctrine law vary, but California happens to have a strong one (if you are inside your home or place of business).
