Open letter to Mayor Daley |
|
I just wanted to take the time to thank you on your stance with regard to the McDonald case that was just decided by the US Supreme Court. This huge victory for gun rights in this country was made possible, in no small part, thanks to your stance and stubbornness on this issue.
I also think it is a fabulous idea to continue with your efforts to undermine gun rights in this country. There would just be no way to bring this stuff to the Supreme court without the generous donations the City of Chicago is paying to all of these gun rights lawyers. If the gun rights supporters want to get anything done, it is vital that you continue with these bans and regulations.
Thank you, and keep up the good work.

1. Fenty, and Daley both deserve......... |
|
A big thanks, for being so wrong headed, egotistical and stubborn..
If either one had backed down, we would NOT have the victories we now have..
THEY BOTH, had their chance to back down, and BOTH balked...
So, along with our thanks, they BOTH can get Multi-Million dollar attorney bills, from Mr Gura.

4. One handgun per household according to Daley |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-30-10 09:06 AM by DonP
His City Lawyer came out yesterday and announced that the new Chicago gun laws will, of course require registration and a registration fee (poll tax?) and households will be limited to one handgun. According to her "No one needs more than one gun for defending themselves."
Hmmm, does Daley really need more than one bodyguard at a time? I'm guessing ... yes?
This AM one of Daley's pet "aldercritters" was being interviewed and said that "Everyone knows you have to have tight registration for public safety purposes. It's just common sense." When it was pointed out that many cities, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Miami etc. do not have registration beyond concealed carry and don't seem to have any problems with first responders..
His response is typical egocentric Daley-speak "Well that's just foolish and asking for trouble."
The NRA should send Daley, Fenty and Bloomburg nice matching fruit baskets for the Holidays.

5. It had better be "one handgun per adult", not "one handgun per household"... |
|
unless he wants to seriously try to argue before the court that domestic partners, women, and roommates don't have Constitutional rights.
There's also the irony that Shortshanks is trying to lay the same restriction on Chicago residents that the Bush Administration laid on Fallujah, Iraq under martial law.
