Suspect in road rage shooting pleads not guilty

NORRISTOWN — A Norristown man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges in connection with an alleged August road rage shooting that left another driver near death.... Witnesses, according to a criminal complaint, told police the victim was in his car at a traffic light in the 1300 block of Markley Street headed northbound just after 7 p.m. when a red Chrysler Sebring, allegedly operated by Garrett, pulled up next to the victim's vehicle. According to authorities, the men exchanged words, then got out of their vehicles and began fighting ... The victim claimed he was not armed at the time. During the altercation, according to the victim, a gun fell from Garrett's waistband. Garrett picked up the firearm and shot the East Norriton man, who told investigators he did not try to reach for the weapon ...

Road Rage Incident Leads to Shooting in NE
