The site posted above is a poster of Sarah Palin threatening liberals with what I in my ignorance can only assume is a small machine gun....ie, an automatic multiple round weapon.
Is she holding it properly? It occurred to me that she might be holding the actual revolving mechanism that slips individual bullets into the barrel. Which, of course, would make the whole poster kinda silly.
Of course, I am an idiot in these matters. Please let me know.

1. There's no 'revolving mechanism' on that rifle..

But there are a few things wrong with the picture..

1) Finger on the trigger with someone in front of her
2) Terrible stance
3) Terrible line of sight
4) No hearing protection (this appears to be a photo op, not an actual range though)

Now, with that being said, anyone can take a picture and format it with any text they like- I wouldn't say that she's threatening liberals- whoever took the picture and added text is.

8. The OP may have heard the phrase "rotating bolt" somewhere and gotten confused.

For the OP's clarification, a "rotating bolt" is a method of locking the gun's chamber closed before it fires. It means that the bolt head turns to snap into place against the chamber, but that's not involved with loading the next round.

2. The gun she's holding isn't even real

It's an M4 simulator. Note the cord hanging down from it. Other than that she had her off hand on the foregrips she was holding it correctly

4. It's not even a firearm

That's a simulated rifle used for training. It emits one or more pulses of light when you pull the trigger.

Her grip is terrible, and she's not looking through the sight.

7. This photo is a few years old...

and from, IIRC, before her V.P. campaign. She was being given a tour at an Army training center, and did a walk-through of one of the combat simulators.
