In Case You Missed It: NRA-PVF Endorses Scott Walker For Governor in Wisconsin

"Fairfax, VA -- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Scott Walker in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race on November 2.

“Scott Walker has earned the NRA-PVF endorsement for his unwavering pro-gun record throughout his political career,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “His commitment to preserving our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage makes Scott Walker the clear choice for Wisconsin gun owners.”

Supporting the NRA means supporting the worst of the right wing crazies. People who intend to destroy unions and the working class.
So remember, just because someone agrees with you on one thing doesn't mean that they won't fuck you in the buttocks on everything else.

Ted Strickland in Ohio and the NRA never did shit for him. They actually upgraded Kasich from an F- to a C in their ratings. That $25000 for Strickland was for past Congressional campaigns.

state gubernatorial campaigns. I saw a post a couple months ago that had the contributions for Ted Strickland as $25000 from 2000 to 2008. Those years do not include this election against Kasich. Another DUer had a link that said he received nothing in this last election.

On edit: Strickland received a total of $2500 from the NRA in 2010 and I don't know of any ads for him. I was wrong before the NRA upgraded Kasich from a F (to a B) (not a C).

13. They support anyone who supports the 2nd amendment, regardless of party..
And that is the point isn't it. They would support the worst possible people if those people pandered to gun rightists.

Here's a question, who would they not support? Is there a candidate so morally bankrupt that they would not support them, even if that candidate did support gun rights?

Given that they support Walker, I'd say the answer is no.

21. That is the nature of a single issue organization.
Maybe the ACLU should champion RKBA and make the NRA-ILA or whatever the political arm is, obsolete.

7. Of course, NRA gave to many more right wingers than Dems, and more money too.

Still, their intent is to sway legislation, whether they are giving to Gandhi or John Wayne.

3. NRA = gun rights nothing else matters.
Walker isn't trying to ban guns at this moment, however.com if he does they'll endorse another candidate.

10. The NRA gave high marks to all my Democratic candidates in the last election.
I am a member of the NRA.

In the last election, the NRA gave high marks to all of my Democratic candidates except one. Three of the candidates were the NRA-endorsed candidate.

The NRA supports politicians who support the right to keep and bear arms. Period. It doesn't matter if they eat babies, as long as they support the second amendment.

15. So supporting the NRA means potentially supporting infantiphages.
"The NRA supports politicians who support the right to keep and bear arms. Period. It doesn't matter if they eat babies, as long as they support the second amendment."

My point exactly

17. This is what single-issue interest groups DO.
The NRA supports politicians based on one single metric: their support of the second amendment.

They are not interested in any other political aspect of a candidate.

I have no problem with this.

14. Sorry I hurt your tender eyes with one of the most popular words in the language.
If you don't think that word is appropriate for what republicans in Wisconsin, not to mention other states, are trying to do to the working class, what explicative do you prefer?

The NRA ratings have become about as reliable as the BBB , or those little stickers on the back of trucks that say " How's my driving ? Call this number and we can avoid getting the cops involved while making your dumb ass feel a little better " . Sorry to hear about the buttocks .
