Campus guns bill in doubt after another stall in Texas Senate
http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/campus-guns-bill-in-doubt-after-another-stall-in-texas-senate/2011/04/12/AFDcCxND_story.html

Efforts to allow concealed handguns in college classrooms stalled in the Texas Senate for a second time Monday, leaving a measure that seemed headed for approval now struggling to survive.

The measure’s Republican (edit: moran) sponsor, Sen. Jeff Wentworth of San Antonio, said he didn’t have the necessary support to call the bill for a vote. Wentworth would not predict if or when he would try again.

“I’m hopeful this is a bump in the road,” Wentworth said. “I don’t have a very clear crystal ball.”

The Senate had passed a similar bill in 2009 and Wentworth had assumed he would get it through the chamber again. With more than 80 lawmakers in the 150-member House already signed as co-authors and Gov. Rick Perry (edit: moran) supporting it as well, many expected the bill would sail into law.

1. I'm glad to hear this. The univ. and college administrators do not want this bill to pass.

10. All civil rights have limitations.
Typically one persons civil rights stop at another persons nose. Lawful concealed carry is not a problem on the campuses that already allow it. I've asked you many times now to list any problems that have happened on those that do. You have failed to list one.

yup

9. Yes it is a civil right, bigots like you don't get to tell members of a culture you are at war with
If it is a civil rights issue or not

Just like how KKK members don't get to determine if equal rights for African Americans is a civil rights issue.

3. Good thing we don't have to listen to their opinion on civil liberties
or we'd still have segregation in schools. And no women allowed.
