5. Well, it depends how you read it.....
"The use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning."

The sign means the opposite of what it reads. So, it looks like a anti-gun sign but it really is a pro-gun sign.

4. That is the concept of how laws are used also.
The criminal bankers and skimmers do not obey laws and steal without retribution, while everyone else is told to follow laws.

That is how they want anarchy for themselves, and put other people under a restriction they do not follow.

Those that follow laws are considered idiots by them, they don't believe in rules, only what you can get away with, and from that they have tried to change as many laws to punish by fine not jail time, so they can buy way out of prosecutions.

Its the same with people that believe in being fair, and fits with the idea that being bad is what some think of as a gun.

They think they have a gun, everyone else gives up when they try to be nice and fair.

6. We had a lockdown at school (elementary)
when an armed criminal came onto the grounds after robbing a bank. Nobody knew what it was, but we went through procedure of locking all the doors (metal) and bringing down the metal hurricane shutters. We turned off the lights and had all the kids sit on the floor against walls away from the windows. This was the procedure for hurricanes and tornadoes. We had no idea what was happening. Do you people think we should have gotten out guns and drawn them, as a PRECAUTION for ANY emergency?

You are all OUT OF YOUR MINDS. If nothing else, that would have TERRIFIED the pre schoolers in the room. It was enough to keep telling them it was just a DRILL, which we ourselves thought until it lasted so long.

7. Well, it seems you know nothing about guns......
no issue with locking the doors, hiding, etc. And just because you have a gun and the alarm goes off does not mean all armed teachers draw the gun and start running through the halls. You have seen too many movies.

I guess you don't believe in laws? As I have said, in the majority of state it is AGAINST THE LAW to carry a gun onto school property.

CHANGE the law, if you can, if you don't like that. I thought you were all law abiding citizens?

18. Where are you getting this?
Logical never advocated that teachers break the law and carry guns. He stated that if teachers were armed, and an active shooter situation occurred, there wouldn't be a bunch of armed teachers running around the halls with their guns at the ready, hunting the intruder. You've made a big leap, and you're now in a territory that no one else is in. I wouldn't go so far as to accuse you of attacking a strawman, but you're overreacting, and certainly not addressing what was said.

20. Well, that prohibition certainly stopped that bank robber...
...from running onto school property carrying a firearm.

And when has anyone here advocated ignoring the law, rather than getting it changed or struck down?

28. This is what you stated:
"Do you people think we should have gotten out guns and drawn them, as a PRECAUTION for ANY emergency? "

You are the one that presented that scenario, so why this statement:

"I guess you don't believe in laws? As I have said, in the majority of state it is AGAINST THE LAW to carry a gun onto school property."

13. In my opinion you did exactly the right thing ...
The criminal was attempting to escape after robbing a bank.

Fortunately he didn't break into the school and take a classroom of kids and the teacher hostage.

19. No, you get the gun out when there is active shooter
There was no active shooter so keep the guns in the safe, but I bet you dont have guns so if someone comes with the right equipment they can get in but then y'all are locked in with him and he'll be the only one armed. Try thinking rather than reacting stupidly and stop listening to anti gun groups because they are the reason why your post sounds so ignorant.

23. Some schools teach to hide and pray. Others teach to hide, be prepared and
protect their kids.

(Reuters) - A Texas school district will let teachers bring guns to class this fall, the district's superintendent said on Friday, in what experts said appeared to be a first in the United States.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2008/08/15/us-texas-guns-idUSN1538661720080815?feedType=RSS

And if you read Suzanna Hupp's book you'll find that there was a school before the one referenced above that had done it years before.

31. hey, you're really good at this, aren't you?
Following on the heels of your icky "question" to "anti-gun people" as it does (not chronologically, I know, but in the sequence of my perusal of the board), it reinforces my admiration of your mastery of demagoguery.

Someone states the plain fact that the "sign" you posted is a hoax (being very polite, I'd say), and your "response" is:

So you think criminals honor no gun signs?

So ... you think making insulting, patently false statements about someone and affixing a question mark at the end of them is the behaviour of a decent person?

So ... you have no regard whatsoever for the truth?

So ... you think the rest of the world is actually so stupid that we will be left speechless by your brilliant wordplay?

Enquiring minds are eager to know.
