Police: Man pulls gun at Staunton park (moran road rage)

A 69-year-old Staunton man is accused of pulling a gun Saturday on another man in Gypsy Hill Park, according to Staunton police.

Guy M. Waggie is charged with brandishing a firearm, a misdemeanor.

Police said a 30-year-old man reported he was walking in the park when sideswiped by an SUV driven by Waggie shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday. The man said he responded by slapping the vehicle. Waggie is suspected of exiting the SUV and pointing a 9mm handgun at the victim before driving off.

Police arrested Waggie a short time later on Grubert Avenue. He was released Sunday from Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.

Sideswiped? Wouldn't that be an accident involving a pedestrian?
Driving off? Wouldn't' that be leaving the scene of an accident? Hit and run?

I would think brandishing a handgun would be the least of Waggie's worries...
