What they do, when they are not banning guns

http://kron.com/Global/story.asp?S=1712265

"ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) -- City officials were so concerned about the potentially dangerous properties of dihydrogen monoxide that they considered banning foam cups after they learned the chemical was used in their production

Then they learned, to their chagrin, that dihydrogen monoxide -- H2O for short -- is the scientific term for water. "

4. Kills on contact ...
in its superheated gaseous state.

Total immersion in its liquid phase can lead to death.

Prolonged contact in its solid state has also been documented to result in death.

On top of that, it's highly addictive.

But still, it's much better to regulate guns and ban concealed carry.

7. Who the hell are you trying to kid?
Perhaps if there weren't so many idiotic posts from the RKBA crowd, there might be more conversation....

Meanwhile, I've never known a right winger who wasn't a total blithering idiot.

9. Which ones are those, roe?
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 04:29 PM by MrBenchley
The ones who post turds from right wing cesspools like Newsmax and American Daily?

The ones who screamed that John Kerry was evil and that they'd never ever vote Democratic last week?

Funny how fescue's mood changed when he found out it was conservative Republicans who are responsible for this bit of stupidity, isn't it? He was sure full of scorn in post one, but then suddenly his tone was "idiocy is not partisian..."

Meanwhile, I still don't see how the RKBA crowd worked guns into this rubbish....

I'm still trying to figure out how someone reads a report about dumb-ass conservatives in Orange County nearly banning water and says "guns!"...or is full of scorn before he finds out it's right wingers and not so much afterwards.

27. Oh what a pantload
It was a joke pointing out the idiocy of politics who run to ban anything that they don't understand and find scary.

Surely even the most hoplophobic among us, (ahem), can see at least a slight similiarity to those who support certain gun legislation (the completely ineffective AWB comes to bind).

Bad politicians are bad politicians, I don't care what their party affliation is. And I consider a politician bad if he wants to ban my civil rights, OR if he/she wants to ban water.

As for the party affliation of the folks referenced in the story...well I don't know but I assumed that they were proably Democrat as they are from California. However just being a Democrat is not enough for me to overlook the lunacy of banning water.

28. Geeze, what a shame for your "joke"
that it turned out to be the kind of right wing imbeciles who spout that bogus "gun rights" crap who almost banned water then....if it had been left wing Democrats like the rest of us here, I'm sure it would have seemed hilarious to dittoheads and other scum...

"the completely ineffective AWB comes to bind"
Gee, it's hilarious to hear the people who erupt in rage anytime renewal is discussed pretend that the bill they obsess over day and night is ineffective. But then how dumb does someone have to be to think that the NRA would order the immunity bill deep-sixed just because an ineffectual amendment dealing with cosmetics was attached?

I guess they have to be dumb enough to think hoplophobia is anything but a lack of stupidity, or that the crap spouted by Larry Pratt and Ted Nugent has anything to do with civil rights.

29. A sense of humor is a big help.

If one cant see the inherent humor in water banners, then they proably have a distorted view of pretty much everything else in life as well.

Best of luck to you.

31. another pantload

Hardly.

First off, we don't know what their afflilation is..I only have your assertation that they are repubs and frankly your credibilty isnt to high lately (no offense meant).

Nonetheless, I hope they are conservative repubs if this is their mode of operation.

Remember, civil rights is a LIBERAL position and the right to bear arms is a civil right.

Those who oppose the civil right of arming ones self are not completely liberal.

Seriously Bench, you need to lighten up a little. Sometimes I suspect that you are getting yourself a little worked up over a bunch of good natured fun. This post was meant to be a fun one.

you're still desperately hoping that it is Democrats you are jeering at....ho-kay.

"Remember, civil rights is a LIBERAL position and the right to bear arms is a civil right."
Now THAT's a fucking pantload. Civil rights IS a liberal position...which is why pretty much every civil rights group in the country ended up on the NRA's idiotic enemies list and every racist piece of shit in the country is spouting this dishonest "gun rights" crap.

"This post was meant to be a fun one."
And I'm sure laughing my ass off at the RKBA crowd in it too.

10. It's a Hoax, Folks!!!!
From the Snopes web site:

Update: In March 2004 the California municipality of Aliso Viejo (a suburb in Orange County) came within a cat's whisker of falling for this hoax after a paralegal there convinced city officials of the danger posed by this chemical. The leg-pull got so far as a vote having been scheduled for the City Council on a proposed law that would have banned the use of foam containers at city-sponsored events because (among other things) they were made with DHMO, a substance that could "threaten human health and safety."
