Police search for father of child who was shot

Police search for father of child who was shot

CALCASIEU, La. (AP) —
A 5-year-old girl was shot, apparently accidentally, by her father, a convicted felon who was not supposed to own a gun, police said.

The child, who was not identified, was in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital late Wednesday

"She came through surgery OK, but she's still in the pediatric ICU," Sgt. Brian Frost of the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Police issued a warrant for her father, Terry Gilbert, who went missing shortly after the shooting. He is wanted for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, obstruction of justice and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. He also is wanted for probation violation out of Grant Parish.

6. Don't worry
Although they're as rare as hens' teeth, RKBA "enthusiasts" save them so they can gloat over them and pretend they cancel out 90,000 tragedies a year...

7. Your number is usually 30,000
What have you been drinking to make it 90,000? Sounds like I could use some of that stuff.
