Blast rocks Tel Aviv, at least 10 hurt

An explosion tore through downtown Tel Aviv on Thursday, causing at least 10 casualties, rescue services said. The Zaka rescue service said the blast, near the city's old central bus station, was apparently caused by a Palestinian suicide bomber.

"There was a huge boom near ... a restaurant," witness Ronit Lis told Reuters. "Everything turned black and I ran away. They began to close the area down and there are a lot of ambulances in the area."

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said there were at least 10 casualties.A Palestinian suicide bomber last struck in Israel on December 5, killing five people outside a shopping mall in the coastal city of Netanya.
