Israeli critically wounded in Qassam salvo on Negev

An Israeli was critically wounded in a school near the hard-hit Negev town of Sderot early Sunday, when a Qassam rocket crashed into one of the campus buildings.

Hours later, an Israel Air Force air strike hit three Hamas men as they prepared to fire a Qassam rocket from the Gaza Strip Sunday morning, killing two and wounding one.

The crew was hit seconds before they were to fire a rocket at Israel, military sources said.

The Qassam that struck near Sderot was one of more than 30 fired this weekend, in apparent response to the Friday deaths of seven Palestinian civilians in what appeared to be an errant Israel Defense Forces shell that exploded on a Gaza beach.
