Ayalon to build Bush institute in Israel
Outgoing Israeli ambassador to US says in private Oval Office farewell he will establish institute named after US president in Israel in appreciation for Bush's contribution to Israel's security

<snip>

"In an unusual display of appreciation, US President George W. Bush invited outgoing Israeli Ambassador to the United States Daniel Ayalon to privately bid farewell at the Oval Office on Wednesday.

Bush has often complimented Ayalon on his performance as foreign ambassador, and now Ayalon took the opportunity to reciprocate.

Because of your contribution to the security of Israel , the Jewish people and the world in general, you deserve to have your name memorialized in Israel, said Ayalon, adding that it will be a show of gratitude from the Israeli public.

In the 1930's there was Churchill and now there is you, added Ayalon. Bush was moved by the gesture and told Ayalon that he always was and will always be a friend of Israel."

1. Make sure you have the names of every dead American soldier
listed. You can call it the The Bush Memorial To American Soldiers of the Iraq War.

5. Why?
Shouldn't a memorial like that be in the US?

7. Of course it should. But if they insist on building a tribute to Bush
in Israel for the sake of Israeli security. than the men and women upon who's blood, Bush's reknown in Israel is built upon should be also acknowledged. It was their sacrifice, not his, that have achieved Israeli goals.

8. So the Iraq war was fought for Israel?
Am I reading your opinion correctly?

9. That is not my opinion. The war in fact has made Israel less safe.
Israel now has to contend with Iran that has lost it's counterweight in Iraq.

My opinion is that if the Bush administration is to be acknowledged for improving the security of Israel by getting rid of Saddam Hussein by the outgoing ambassador (who coincidentally made it a point to meet with Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Bush within the past few weeks), then each and every American who gave their life should be acknowledged because it is they that have made that accomplishment while paying the ultimate price.

10. Thanks for the response.
I agree with your title. I see your point, though I don't agree with it, any more than I want to see a "Bush" whatever in Israel!

11. Your welcome and I agree with you.
There should be no institute built to a man who has accomplished nothing but more harm on a global scale for everyone involved.

If it is however decided to be built, then I will continue to demand that the names of the men and women, this president supposedly supports, be placed there because frankly they deserve the recognition.

Too often are brave, idealistic men and women sent out to the slaughter of their fellow human beings, so politicians can sit around and talk about sacrifice and honor. There was a time when such individuals led such battles, led by example, now the leaders merely speak the rhetoric and propoganda.

3. The only time the name G W Bush is shown should be as a war
criminal. I despise the thought he should credit from his abuse of our troops.
