Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Human Rights Watch (HRW), the New York-based human rights monitor most commonly known for its criticism of Israel, turned its attention to Palestinian terrorists Wednesday and demanded they stop using civilians as a cover for violence against the Jewish state.
Palestinian groups such as Hamas have long conducted their terrorist activities from the heart of civilian population centers, but what grabbed HRW's attention was the terrorists' encouragement of civilian mobs to use their bodies to prevent Israeli aerial bombardments of targets in the Gaza Strip.
HRW's Middle East director Sarah Leah Whitson said in a statement to reporters that "there is no excuse for calling civilians to the scene of a planned attack."
