Hamas in cry from the heart
Edited on Fri Nov-24-06 02:48 PM by pelsar
HAMAS Government spokesman Ghazi Hamad has called on fellow Palestinians to cease blaming the Israeli occupation for their troubles and find a way to stop the thuggery and violence that have shattered their dreams of an independent state.

As government spokesman, Dr Hamad, a former newspaper editor, has often attacked Israel since Hamas was elected to office earlier this year
(note: hes accused israel of poisening arafat, remarking that israel should be wiped off the face of the earth...)

"When you walk the streets of Gaza City today, you cannot but close your eyes because of what you see there: indescribable anarchy, policemen nobody pays attention to, youths strutting with weapons, mourning tents set up in the middle of main streets. Clans carry weapons in tribal wars against other clans. Gaza has turned into a garbage dump."

Instead of engaging in constructive state-building, he said, Palestinian society had been tearing itself apart.

this self criticism is new for the Palestenains in that is public, this is one of the best signs I've seen for their own society, learning to accept responsability for their own actions. Because its from the Hamas spokesman it is a very serious "breach" in the "its always israels fault" that is so prevalent within the palestenian society and without....it is a very good sign, at least for citizen gaza.

he may want me "dead" or at least gone....but he is taking an honest look at his own society. This is good for them and good the region in the long run

2. The situations are not even comparable.
You don't think the Palestinians should accept responsibility for their own actions?

3. I kind of figured you'd reply
"Unlike the US, England, and the many other countries mired in Iraq"
