Israel resumes razing al-Quds houses

Israel had abandoned the policy of destroying Palestinian homes in 2005, Press TV correspondent in Jabal el-Mukaber in al-Quds, Dalia Nammari, reported Wednesday.

Israel demolished 660 houses in eastern Jerusalem from 2001 to 2005.

Al-Quds residents say that Israel is resorting to policies that would force them to leave their city.

“We worked hard to build our house. All our life's hard work is now gone. We only have Allah to help us,” said Fatemeh Abu Dheim, an eastern al-Quds resident whose house was demolished by the Israelis few days after the Gaza war.

“My heart has been broken twice. First, when my son was killed by Israeli forces and now that my house is destroyed,” she added.

Her husband Hisham said a huge number of Israeli forces wrecked the four-storey building around 4:30 in the morning.

Some 250,000 Palestinians live in eastern part of Jerusalem (al-Quds) -- which Israel annexed after occupying it in the 1967 Middle East war.
