Sourani: 86 Israeli war criminals are now wanted by international courts

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Palestinian human rights activist Raji Al-Sourani has disclosed Wednesday that at least 86 Israeli military officers were now wanted by a number western courts for their role in the holocaust in the Gaza Strip.

In a forum held in this regard in the Egyptian capital Cairo, Sourani accused the European governments of adopting unfair stand over the Israeli massacres in Gaza Strip, opining that such behavior would bring the world back to the " law of the jungle."

He said that a number of lawsuits were filed by international human rights organizations against Israeli military officers before courts in Britain, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Spain over their role in the brutal war on Gaza, underlining that 86 of those officers were now wanted by those courts.

"The Palestinian human rights organizations will keep on chasing those Israeli war criminals, and they won't forgive or forget what the Israeli occupation army had done in Gaza", Sourani stressed.

4. the kind with
articles titled like this:

"A satanic, genocidal Israel"

And with actual articles like this:

"Gaza-2008-9 is very much like Dresden-1945. And as Dresden was annihilated by the RAF toward the end of the Second World War, the 1.5 million inhabitants of Gaza are being decapitated and thoroughly terrorized by the Israeli army, the Wehrmacht of our time.

But there is obviously a fundamental and conspicuous difference between Gaza and Dresden. Dresden was targeted by the allies as an act of sheer vengeance and revenge for what the Nazi war machine had done, including German attacks on London and other British cities.

But Gaza committed no crime against Israel. To be sure, the opposite is quite true. Have we forgotten that the bulk of the Gaza victims, who are being annihilated with the Zionist war machine, happen to be refugees and their children and grandchildren uprooted from their towns and villages across the borders inside Israel?

<snip>

Arab and Muslim children won’t have to read about Israeli Nazism in their textbooks. They are watching it live on their TV screens.

Let it be clear to all and sundry. Israel is telling an entire generation of Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims that they either surrender to the Jewish Third Reich or become “terrorists.”

<snip>

and this:

World must say “No” to Jewish Nazism before it is too late

< 31/12/2008 - 01:10 AM >

By Khalid Amayreh

"The genocidal Israeli onslaught against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is strikingly similar to the German blitz in the initial stage of the Second World War. The pretexts are nearly the same and the behaviors of both Nazi and Israeli political and military leadership are nearly identical."

<snip>

"am asking these questions because I have seen Jews dancing and celebrating rather joyfully the carnage in Gaza. Indeed, a fleeting glance at the Israeli media these days reveals a sick and cannibalistic society that is as bestial as Nazi Germany was during the holocaust."

Not to mention titles like this:

lsrael’s Hitler to Join the Knesset

A whoring, lying state

There's much more. Some of it is even worse. It's the ravings of a hate filled bigot. And it's dissgusting that anyone at DU would link to it. Not surprising, but repulsive.

9. I think the language used on the website
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 04:00 PM by cali
makes it pretty clear that the hate bleeds over from just hating Israel- and not the current Israeli militarists- to Jews in general. There are the usual accusations of Jews controlling the media, etc. And seriously, the repeated claims that Israel is worse than the worst things the Nazis did?

Not to mention accusations that Jews were responsible for the U.S. invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.

11. Its actually instructive to link to such sites, since understanding that there is such garbage out
there is instructive. Endorsing it would be another thing entirely

14. Spain to amend law to avoid trying Israeli war criminals
report filed from 'occupied' Spain
The Spanish government has decided to amend the country"s law dealing with prosecuting military commanders involved in war crimes.

Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni announced the news following a meeting with her Spanish counterpart Miguel Moratinos after a Spanish court accepted a lawsuit against former Israeli war ministry Benjamin Ben Eliezer and the then head of the air force Dan Halutz on charges against humanity.

snip

Spanish judge Fernando Andreu agreed to look into the case against Ben Eliezer and Halutz along with five other former Israeli officials for ordering the assassination of Hamas commander Salah Shehade that also led to the killing of 14 innocent civilians mostly women and children.

snip

Shehade was killed in July 2002 in the Israeli air raid that bombed his home using a one ton bomb.

15. Not according to JPost
Spain won't annul judge's decision'

The Spanish government is not intending to work to annul a decision by a Spanish court to prosecute seven Israeli officials for alleged war crimes committed during the targeted assassination of Salah Shehadeh in 2002. 14 other people were killed along with Shehadeh.

Spanish Deputy Prime Minister María Teresa Fernández de la Vega was quoted by Army Radio as saying that "Spain is a country ruled by law and the justice system enjoys absolute independence. This was made clear to Israel and we are sure they understand this."
