Attack in capital thwarted; Palestinians: IDF kills motorcyclist

Israel Defense Forces troops Saturday averted a
terror attack on Jerusalem. Armored corps division
soldiers arrested three Hamas activists in the
village of Hizma, northeast of the capital. When
troops searched the surrounding area with sniffer
dogs, a 10-kilogram explosive-laden belt was
uncovered and neutralized by sappers.


The Itim news agency reported Saturday that the belt was
found under a crib in the home of a Hamas activist.

In a separate incident, IDF troops shot dead a
Palestinian motorcyclist Saturday at a roadblock near
the Aska refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus,
Palestinian security and medical officials said.
