Protests at Kristalnacht

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1068446563558&p=1008596981749

Protesters waved Palestinian flags and barked catcalls against Israel during the 65th annual commemoration of Kristallnacht in Vienna, Sunday night. Police had to separate protesters and attendees in the ensuing brawl.

Vienna's Chief Rabbi, in an interview published Sunday, called for continued vigilance to avoid repeating the atrocities committed by Nazis. Though remembering such atrocities is important, it's not enough "only to look to the past," Vienna's head rabbi, Paul Chaim Eisenberg, told the Austria Press Agency, adding that it's important to foster youth in a democratic manner.

"We're now learning that we may never cease to be vigilant," Eisenberg told APA.

I wonder what point these hoodlums were trying to make? Mmmmmm

1. Anti-Semtism
Don't you know, they're only anti-Israel?

It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

3. What a rationalization
Despite extensive marketing efforts, the Palestinians have NOTHING at all in common with the Jews in WWII. If the Israelis were even the ghost of the Nazis in their actions, the Palestinian cause would have been wiped out long ago.

Despite the ridiculous claims of the Palestinian Marketing Front (emphasis on the MF), Israel is NOT trying to wipe them out. If it were, it would have done so long ago.

To see this event as a further example of their anti-Semitism is certainly appropriate and reminds all of us out here what Israel is really fighting.

4. Nope....
There's a time and a place for protests against Israels actions in the Occupied Territories, but a commemoration of Kristallnacht sure as hell ain't the time or place. The only point these people made was that they have zero sensitivity towards what should have been a solemn remembrance of a terrible event from the past. Okay, so I get sick and tired of some folk trying to justify everything Israel does by bringing up the Holocaust, but the people that disrupted this commemoration by their actions have made themselves much, much, much worse. They deserve nothing but contempt as far as I'm concerned...

oh yeah. And there's no (yet) about the possibility of Israel setting up death camps. It's one of those things where it can be very safely said it will never happen...

Violet...

5. I totally agree
with what Violet said.

As for Muddle, well they're "wipeing" them out of their homes and land. What's the occupation and illegal settlements and wall all about then?

6. The wall is for security
The settlements are a negotiation.

8. I agree with Violet and Bluesoul
What could be more disgusting than to choose Kristalnacht for this protest?

7. Harps on?
You don't think the Holocaust deserves to be remembered, not only for the sake of Jews but for what it has to say about humanity and civilization? Would you feel better if we all just stopped bothering with it?
"Granted, Israel hasn't set up any death camps (yet)"
Granted, neither have we (yet) and what are we using for an excuse; 3,000 people rather than 6 million?
The Nazis didn't merely kill Jews and confiscate land and possessions. They also had vast forced labor camps, concentration camps, death camps and scoured other countries populations to wipe every Jew off the face of Europe. Israel doesn't use Palestinian slave labor, doesn't shovel Palestinians into gas chambers and ovens, and doesn't go into other Arab countries going house to house looking for Arabs in order to wipe every Arab off the face of the Middle East. Israel is involved in land disputes with Palestinians; we don't have to have a comparison to Nazi Germany to have a discussion about that.

9. They should hang their heds in shame
Victims of racism share a common bound. Apparently somebody didn't get the word.

Showing support for Palestinians by harrassing those remembering Kristallnacht is just twisted.

10. Yes, from Masada to the Shoah to
Palestinians identififying with Nazis at the birthplace of Hitler while Jews (and, hopefully some righteous Gentiles) were observing a remembrance of the 65th anniversary of Kristallnacht...just perfect.:puke:

This is why we say, "Never Again!"

12. This is the 2nd thread in which...
..you've stated that Palestinians were behind this episode. Please state your proof. Just because some skinhead neo-Nazi in Austria taunted a remembrance with the Palestinian flag does not mean the culprits were Palestinian.
