Hezbollah says Israel is 'shy'

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Israel has made comments about peace along the northern front as Hezbollah brags about its military capabilities, the Shiite resistance movement said.

Hezbollah and Israel went to war for 34 days in 2006. Beirut and Jerusalem are both in violation of a U.N.-brokered cease-fire agreement. Israel is in violation of the cease-fire with daily military flights over Lebanon, while Beirut enacted a measure in 2009 that lets Cabinet-member Hezbollah keep its weapons.

Israel has made several suggestions in recent weeks it was not interested in another war with Lebanon despite mounting tensions along the shared border. Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in a recent interview with the BBC, meanwhile, said Israel was a security concern for his government.
