Facility 1391- Israel's Guantanamo
Facility 1391, close to the Green Line, the pre-1967 border between Israel and the West Bank, is different. It is not marked on maps, it has been erased from aerial photographs and recently its numbered signpost was removed. Censors have excised all mention of its location from the Israeli media...

In October 2003 a panel of international legal experts, led by Richard Goldstone, a judge in South Africa's constitutional court who has also been chief prosecutor of the international tribunals for former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda, called Camp X-Ray "a black hole" into which inmates disappeared, to be stripped of basic rights under the Geneva Conventions. The report added that "states cannot hold detainees, for whom they are responsible, outside of the jurisdiction of all international courts"....

Facility 1391 has never been independ ently inspected, not even by the International Red Cross. What happens there is a mystery...no one, apart from a few senior Israeli government and security officials, knows how many inmates there are in Facility 1391. Testimonies from former inmates suggest it is crowded..

Four months after the first revelations of its existence, the Israeli courts have yet to make the government reveal any substantial information about it. "Anyone entering the prison can be made to disappear, potentially for ever," says Leah Tsemel, an Israeli lawyer..

1. Wow
this sounds like a scary place.

If the IDF can engage in purely terrorist attacks on Palestinian civilians and keep getting away with it, imagine what kind of hell they are unleashing behind closed doors where nobody knows a thing. It's likely every bit as bad as Saddam's torture chambers.

3. What do you think about what the article said?
Just a hint, but some people aren't online 24/7 and it can sometimes be a few days before they make their way to articles posted in the forum. Or there's folk like me who read some articles on a visit and don't get round to the others till the next visit. Do you have a problem with that?

7. Not really...
I don't really give a flying shit what you care, but I figured if you'd taken that time and effort to post and have a go at another poster, it may have been possible to coax you into giving some sort of constructive comment on the article...

So, why is the article one sided trash, don?

And why is that that the 'war sucks' throw-away line is only used when it comes to fobbing off human rights violations against Palestinians, but when it comes to Israelis it's a completely different matter?

10. one can only imagine

14. And you still haven't answered the question about the article...
No prizes for guessing why. After all, it wasn't that difficult a question, was it?

btw, it would have helped if you'd actually read what I said, which was: '...but I figured if you'd taken that time and effort to post and have a go at another poster, it may have been possible to coax you into giving some sort of constructive comment on the article...'

And trying to coax someone into constructive discussions can be a fun diversion on a wet, horrible night like this, no matter how doomed to failure it is from the start...

Thanks for the fun. And try to sharpen up yr insults and make them a bit more original. That'd make things even more fun ;)
