Raids in Rafah go largely unnoticed
In the southern-most end of the Gaza Strip, bordering Egypt and surrounded by two Israeli settlements, lies the Palestinian city of Rafah.

It is a desperate place, ravaged by the continuous onslaught of the Israeli Army and virtually reduced to rubble and barren land in recent weeks. Nearly 7,500 people have been made homeless here since the beginning of the intifada, hundreds killed and thousands more maimed.

But it is no longer in vogue to cover house demolitions and the complete hopelessness they create. That story is getting old by many standards. So it’s not surprising to find that atrocities worse than those perpetrated in Jenin go unnoticed in Rafah on a daily basis.
The Brazil and Yibneh refugee camps, which have been the target of the heaviest strikes, are almost completely journalists-free zones now. You will find plenty of demolished houses and demolished lives in Rafah, but very few reporters...

1. 7,500 homeless
since the beginning of the intifada. It would seem the intifada has not assisted these.

2. No, it hasn't...
But do you think all of those 7,500 were brutal terrorists who deserved to be made homeless by the moral IDF?

facts on the ground need to be created, and the land needs to be annexed, conquered, and ethnic cleansed. After all, God gave it all to us...

6. the fault lies with the occupation of palestine
it was all badly done -- and now the israelis continue the onslaught before the ''offical'' recognition of israel.
did every one of those 7,500 pose a threat to israel?
if you were intellectually honest with yourself -- you could see the problem instead you continue to blame the people who have lived there uninterrupted for thousands of years and who are now victims of a kind of ethnic cleansing. and israel can't even exist without life support for all it's vanity regarding what it's done for the region.
occupation, wholesale relocation, ethnic cleansing can never be justified.
