Ex-security chiefs chide Israel
Ex-security chiefs chide Israel

Four former Israeli security service chiefs have launched a scathing attack on the government's handling of the peace process with the Palestinians.
The men called for Israel to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and dismantle Jewish settlements, or face "disaster".

Their comments follow remarks last month by Israeli Chief of Staff Moshe Yaalon, who said Israeli measures have generated anger among Palestinians.

Israeli government officials called the men's criticisms naive.

Pull-out urged

1. This, folks
is supposed to represent the 'dovish', 'humane' view of the situation. To recognize that Israeli "measures" (in other words: aggression and ethnic cleansing) "have generated anger" and to suggest a different course other than ruthlessly bulldozing down people's homes, stealing their land, and firing missiles into crowds of people: this is the 'humane' way of looking at things, and is of course, going to be slammed as "naive" by RW government officials. So if you're anything beyond that 'humane' stance (where even the slightest bit of sympathy is shown towards Palestinians), then you're just an off-the-chart radical who can be labelled a 'terrorist suppoerter' or an 'anti-semite' or whatever phrase you like.

And if, god forbid, you actually work towards making peace with Palestinians, then you're even worse: you're a threat to Israel's existence entirely, you know? And therefore you're a threat that must be dealt with somehow, like maybe the IDF will bulldoze you to death like they did to Rachel Corrie, or they'll shoot you in the face like how they dealt with Brian Avery (American peace activists, by the way).

The terrorist warpath that Israel is currently engaged in is no joke. They're going to get their land, they're going to murder whoever gets in their way, and nobody is going to stop them now.
