'Guns may have been thrown overboard'
Firearms may have been thrown overboard by passengers of the Mavi Marmara, Israel Radio reported Friday, citing IDF sources.

According to the report, gun-sights and rifle cartridges not fitting IDF weapons were discovered upon inspection of the ship, leading defense officials to believe that there may have been weapons on board when the ship set out from Turkey aside from the knifes, rocks and slingshots found in the search.

Coded messages apparently alluding to scenarios of soldier-kidnapping and soldier fatalities were also found on board the ship.

Some of those aboard the ship recorded messages saying they intended to become shahids , martyrs for the cause of war against infidels.

A Reuters report appeared to corroborate on Friday claims of an attempt to kidnap a soldier during the raid of the ship

Those in denial will continue to deny, but the evidence continues to mount up.

1. "Israel Radio reported Friday, citing IDF sources"
That's some source.

By the way, do you know what "evidence" means?

2. What other source would there be?
Are you expecting some impartial source to appear?

And it may be you that misunderstands "evidence"... expecting "proof" instead.

3. Oh sure, they threw the guns overboard but left evidence
such as sights and cartridges, just so you could find them. Keep tryin.

4. Israel probably dumped the nuclear bombs they were going to use on the Flotilla overboard.

:eyes:

It's total BS. But it is a more plausible story. We don't know that the flotilla had guns. But we do know that Israel has nuclear bombs.

5. Article with links and video
Lots of good links in this one and Cynthia McKinney rips a CBS host a new one about Gaza coverage in the video embedded in the article:

7. I have it on good authority that the Kraken was thrown overboard, too....

For pete's sake, the IDF lies almost as reflexively as Dick Cheney. So dependably so that anything they say could be considered pretty reliable evidence to the contrary!

8. It's irrelevant. The San Remo Manual allows merchant ships to carry weapons for personal protection.
Did they find any artillery? That's what prohibited.

Who knew? I certainly didn't get the memo.

29. This stance Israel is taking can also complicate understanding of Piracy Issues.
It used to be that shipping policy was uniformly carry no weapons and cooperate fully. But more and more merchant vessels are choosing to arm themselves as Pirates get more violent. Just because you are carrying humanitarian Aid. That doesn't make you immune to pirate attacks. Actually it can make you a target of pirates. So even if they did have weapons like handgun's and rifles for personal protection. That is permissible according to the San Remo manual.

31. Thankfully, our President has taken a strong stand against piracy.

...Or at least against freelance piracy. State-sponsored piracy, not so much.

9. Believing anything Israel says is as difficult as believing anything a Republican says.
But even if the boat had weapons which were thrown overboard, this would not excuse Israel's government reaction because this would not be known until after the incident.

....different than the ones in the pistols that the commandos had with them during the raid.

15. oh right, I forgot....no Israeli doctor can be trusted and Israelis who believe them
...are gullible idiots. No matter how much evidence, proof, etc. If it's from a Jewish source, it's probably a lie.

Best to believe Hamas and those who defend Hamas than any Israeli.

Got it.

I mean its been 5 days and they can determine if the soldiers were shot?
thanks for the possible heads up on the BS to come out of Israel's "ministry of propaganda" but its already a fail if any of the soldiers had been shot it would have made headlines

14. Those Turks are evil geniuses!
They threw the guns they are allowed to have for personal protection overboard. So they could shoot the IDF with their own guns. Hmmmmmm....... well this much I'm sure of, somebody's fuckin' stupid!

Btw, Turks aren't the only ones that will use a rifle scope as a monocular.

19. Not only were they smart enough to throw their 'guns'
overboard, they also were clever enough to hide them during the myriad of inspections the ships had already been through at each port they stopped at. They even fooled the independent inspectors that were hired to provide documents to Israel, who was receiving regular reports on the progress of the flotilla!

32. If your point was to provide an example of how faithful believers turn the absence of something
into proof that the absent thing had actually been there but was hidden, then you get the prized Bush-Cheney Golden-Dumbass Delusional-Psychopathic-Mass-Murderer Award for today.

Either that or the equally prestigious "Barnum" - called the Effie, for those who are "Easily-fooled-always-everytime-if-identity-is-invoked."
