Mossad warns of more attacks on Jewish targets
The Mossad has information of "a number" of plans for attacks on Jewish and Israeli targets overseas by worldwide terror organizations that are working for the "Islamic cause," Mossad chief Meir Dagan advised the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday.

The Mossad head refused to give details on the current warnings, saying only that the information is given to the pertinent authorities, which decide whether to publish it.

Dagan said the Mossad did not have "a specific warning" of the attacks over the weekend on the two synagogues in Istanbul.

Instead, he said there was a "general warning" of a plan to carry out an attack in Turkey. He noted that the synagogue vicinity was secured by private guards and Turkish police, and rejected reports that the sites were not protected.

===============================

Situations like these remind us of the Mossad's value. Hopefully any other killers claiming to work for the "Islamic cause" will be eliminated in time.

4. That's funny
YOu would eliminate someone working for the "Islamic cause"? Could you define "Islamic cause". So Islamic cause equates terrorism, and any Muslim is a terrorist? Are you aware of the generalizations you are making? Islamic cause is EVIl by deault then by your accounts. Oh my...

6. Well I don't care what they claim
For the vast majority of Muslims worldwide, an "Islamic cause" is not terrorism or killing innocent people..

8. Still, Mr. Soul
The killers must be taken at their word: in their view, they and their work are "the Islamic cause", and those among the believers, even, who disagree, are not true Muslims. My own inclination is to take a little more seriously those who resort to violence than those who do not: the latter may be more numerous, but the former are more dangerous.

15. Well said, sir
Unfortunately, we aren't talking about a majority of Muslims. We're talking about al Qaida.

7. "Mossad's value"
In this instance, Mossad's value is not much more than that of an average DUer prior to the invasion of Iraq.

Of course Jewish targets will be attacked in the days, weeks, and months ahead. As long as the problem of the violence in the territories is not solved in a manner that guarantees the Palestinians their dignity, the violence against Jews will continue.

Just yesterday--before the Mossad's pronouncement--I commented here on the futility of Operation Defense Shield and the Wall in guaranteeing the safety of the Disapora. Sharon should hire me, I guess; I'd give him these "analyses" much cheaper than the Mossad.

13. Does rather remind me of statements issued
by our own "Homeland Security Department", with a few
of the names changed here and there. One might almost
think they have a Microsoft Word template for it.

14. Victor Ostrovsky in his first two books described the Mossad's practice
of using students et al to augment the very small Mossad cadre of highly skilled agents.

Ostrovsky says they were used to maintain safe houses but could they also be used for disinformation?
