Parents of woman killed by Israeli bulldozer call for peace
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2003/11/28/271465-cp.html

VANCOUVER (CP) - Speaking through tears, the mother of an American woman crushed by an Israeli army bulldozer in the Gaza Strip this year remembered her daughter's first phone call home from the occupied territory.

"When she called the first time we could hear the trembling in her voice as she said to us, 'Do you hear that?' " Cindy Corrie told reporters Friday in Vancouver. "We could hear over the telephone the shelling that happens every night in Rafah coming from the border."

Her parents have travelled the world since her death, pressing for peace in the Isreali-Palestinian conflict in an effort to pick up where their daughter left off.

Cindy Corrie said she believes that the Israeli occupation must end in order to have any hope of peace.

The Corries are still pressing for a U.S. investigation in their daughter's death, but the young woman's mother said she doesn't want to cause more anguish.

3. When are you going to let Rachel Corrie rest in peace?
Whatever her parents have to do to find closure is fine with me. It is the most dreadful thing in the world to bury a child.

I know personally two families that have buried a young girl. One blown up by a terrorist bomber in Jerusalem and the other the parents of a young girl who leaped off a six story building. All three families will share in the same nightmare every day of their lives.

Everything you have said, whenever you post is OPINION and not FACT. The only other person I can think of willing to convict on OPINION is John Asscroft.

You said in another thread:

"murdering Palestinian civilians is just as awful as murdering Israeli ones. I do hope that one day you'll realize this."

Words and only words. Actions speak louder than words. Doing a search using the words "Rachel Corrie" brings up 10 threads started by yourself. There were too many other threads started by other members in which you participated.

Find me one thread you have started lamenting the death of an Israeli or American child killed by terrorism.

I hope you can one day find some closure for yourself and finally let Rachel Corrie rest in peace.

8. Cindy Corrie's quote is absolutely true in my view.
Cindy Corrie said she believes that the Israeli occupation must end in order to have any hope of peace.

Remove the cause of violence and the violence shall cease. The Palestinians, at this point, have no reason to trust the Israeli Government past or present with its continued escalation of settlement activities and the bulldozing of homes and demolishing orchard groves that come with building new settlements. Israel has shown it's intentions with this "separation fence" (to those of us who know better, it's a wall not unlike Berlin) built in vast swaths of Palestinian territory. Jewish settlers are Israel citizens which enjoy the rights of living in a "Democracy" while the Palestinian residents living in what I call catch 22 land require permits to live on their own land and have no voting rights within this supposed default annexation.

Cindy's call for the occupation to end is not unreasonable. In fact, it's logical.
