Palestinians ask Subaru to act against spoof ad
The Palestinian Authority Wednesday called on the Israeli branch of Japanese automaker Subaru to take action after an apparent parody advertisement showed one of their cars hitting Palestinian youths.

The supposed advertisement, which appeared on several websites, showed a well-known picture of an Israeli settler leader running over stone-throwing boys in east Jerusalem last year in his Subaru vehicle.

Imposed over the scene was the Hebrew slogan: "See who will stand in your way..."

"It is not clear whether this is a genuine advertisement or whether someone is making use of the Subaru logo," a Palestinian government statement said.

3. Really poor taste for whoever did the ad.
No matter what the choices made by some in the Palestinian resistance, it is morally unacceptable to imply that slaughtering Palestinian youths with a car is comedy gold.

5. If I recall the incident no one was slaughtered.

five or six shirtless youths ambushed a settler leader to throw large rocks at his car, he panicked and in the process of fleeing struck two youths. I believe one had his arm broken, but no one died.

9. As I said, I didn't realize it was an actual incident.
Still, it's wrong to imply that hitting Palestinian kids with a car is something to laugh about.

I'd edit my original post but it was too late.

6. Slaughtering Palestinian youths?
You must be using a strange and hitherto unknown definition of the word "slaughtering" - did you even read the article?

Excerpt:

The picture came from an incident in October in which settler leader David Beeri hit and lightly injured two masked stone-throwing boys aged 10 and 11, in the flashpoint Silwan neighbourhood in east Jerusalem.

11. My post was informative about the incident, your posts have so far added what to the conversation?

But go ahead and be snippy. Are we really going to argue the difference between rocks and stones?

8. I didn't realize that it was based on a real incident.
OK...hitting Palestinian youths. Sorry. Still, not funny and not acceptable.

(I'd rewrite my post but it's too late).

10. Fair enough
I do agree with you that it is in very poor taste.

Subaru has already said they had nothing to do with it.

Not sure what the story here is exactly.

Bunch of idiots do something stupid?
