Full Title: "Koppel: Is Sharon throwing down the Gauntlet?"

In a much-anticipated speech Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Israel will begin separating itself from Palestinians within several months if Palestinians do not make moves under the U.S.-backed "road map" to peace.
Palestinian and U.S. officials expressed concerns about the possibility of Israel taking unilateral steps rather than strictly following the road map. CNN correspondent Andrea Koppel filed this report Thursday after Sharon's remarks.

At the heart of his speech, what he said is if there is not movement by the Palestinians on the U.S.-backed road map for peace, if they're not cracking down on terrorism in a visible and viable way, then the Israelis will take an independent move; they will withdraw from certain Israeli settlements in Gaza.

He also said that if Israel is forced to take these independent moves, the Palestinians will get far less than they would have if they were to continue in these negotiations directly with Israel.

3. wow...
how about:

a. outlaw terrorism
b. stop naming teams and steets after them
c. stop advocating hateful racism on pa tv
d. arrest them and keep them in jail
e. dismantle their infrastructure

and if they really want to show sincerity, and if they
need help, ask israel to join them.
