Israeli invasion shakes Jenin
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/A8574241-A2B0-465D-8D8C-E6202D766EA9.htm

Three Palestinians have been wounded, one seriously, during a major Israeli military invasion of Jenin on Monday.

The occupation troops entered the northern West Bank town on Monday with 20 military jeeps and tanks, backed by two Apache helicopters which opened fire, witnesses said.

A local man who only wanted to be identified by his first name for fear of reprisals from the Israeli military, told Aljazeera.net that tanks and the Apaches entered Jenin in the morning and opened fire on the house of a 29 year-old-man in Halimah al-Sadaya, eastern Jenin.

"Apache helicopters were used to target the house of Aysar Abu Srur, his pregnant wife and two children were in the house when the army started shooting from above. No warning was given to the family, so that they could leave the house", said Yusuf.

1. It amazes me that Israelis know exactly where to go ..
after each aggression on them by the Palestinians.

3. It isn't that hard
but the PA Police and the PA goverment have absolutely no interest in catching people violating the law when it wouldn't be in their best interests.

26. What PA government? What PA Police?
And what possibly justifies firing on a defenceless family?

5. the Israelis maintain a network of collaborators in the occupied lands
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 09:49 PM by Aidoneus
They act as a "5th column" for the occupation authorities and are often responsible for assisting the Israeli military in killings.

Exactly what "aggression on them by the Palestinians" is the Israeli military reacting to here? The last couple months have seen exactly no humanbombs in "Green Line" Israeli cities, yet Palestinians still drop daily from Israeli "Peace Bullets".

9. By Now, Mr. Aidoneus
It would not surprise me if the Palestine Authority security services were feeding information directly to the Shin Bet on the personnel of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. the Palestyine Authority services would certainly have such information, and it would be very much in their interests on several levels to do this just now. This last series of raids seems to have been especially well directed, which suggests better than usual information to guide them. By my lights, as you will be aware, there is no time when it is innappropriate to strike the fundamentalist reactionaries, for it is necessary to break their power utterly if there is to be any sustainable peace.

11. That is a good point as well
That is likely as well. I'm sure they fear their reigns slipping away more than the welfare of their own people and the "cause", and will kiss any arm they cannot break if it will improve their position at whatever compromising expense.

15. Care to document that charge?
Of course, the PA police don't bother documenting their charges. They just accuse anyone they don't like (say, somebody who objects to Arafat's skimming billions of dollars from aid to his people), accuse them of "collaboration" and shoot them in the head in the town square with no trial.

6. Since Israel doesn't engage in terrorism I'd say never
Israel is defending itself against those that want to kill Israel citizens and sometimes it's not pretty but Israel does not engage in terrorism.

12. "defending itself"
against terrorism is an excuse to blow up houses for new land development. Israel has been in violation of Geneva conventions for quite some time.

24. There's quite a few violations...
This has been discussed many times in this forum but you must have missed it. Here's a copy of the Geneva Convention for you to read. http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm If you have any difficulty picking out the violations, I'll be more than happy to assist in pointing them out :)

Clinton accomplished exactly nothing. Results are what counts, not fell-goodism by Clinton and lies and murder by Arafat and Hamas.

I know where Clark stands (knee-deep in dog shit on this matter), but hadn't heard that one before. That puts him somewhere between Pat Robertson & Trent Lott on the issue, then?

There are approx 80k people here. If 20 vehicles, tanks and two Apache helicopters attacked the downtown area, darn right we would consider that a major invasion!!!

28. Last time I checked
NC is not in the middle of a quasi-war zone where people fight all the time. In the context of the situation, where military (IDF) or terror groups (too many to mention) roam the area with regularity, this is a small event.
