Eyptian officials to travel to Israel to mark peace anniversary: report
An official Egyptian delegation will travel to Israel to participate in celebrations there to mark the 25th anniversary of peace between the two countries, government daily Al-Ahram reported Thursday.

Cairo's relations with the Jewish state soured following the outbreak of the Palestinian uprising in September 2000, with Egypt considering the Jewish state's response to be heavy handed.

Ties have warmed recently, and Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom arrived in Cairo Thursday on the first such visit in two years.

Egypt does well to mind itself and not attempt to dictate Israel's response to the Palestinian problem. Palestinians should note that peace is possible with Israel, given proper respect.
