PA said to release 4 Gazans suspected of bombing U.S. convoy
Edited on Sun Mar-14-04 08:01 AM by Gimel
The Palestinian Authority has released four Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who were suspected of carrying out a deadly bombing of a U.S. diplomatic convoy, Palestinian sources said Sunday.

Three American security guards were killed in the October 15 attack, which took place near the Erez crossing.

The sources said the suspects were released because there was not sufficient evidence to hold them.

The four had been arrested by Palestinian security forces several weeks ago and charged with manslaughter for planting bombs aimed at Israeli tanks that might also have hit the convoy. The United States had asked the PA after the attack to bring the perpetrators to justice.

1. Wow....PA Judicial System at its best.
How much you want to bet NO ONE will ever be arrested and
convicted??

Could it be that the PA *WAS* involved in this and
they dont want that to get out ??

2. Reward money

The $5 million reward means nothing to them.

On edit: It means nothing to the law enforcement or the top PA brass, to give this a more specific and accurate tone.

4. And let us not forget.....
those 2 israeli policeman who, under PA control, were
literally macerated by those PA cops and their lifeless
mangled bodies thrown out of a PA police station.

Give them a country....

5. The PEACE PROCESS
The thundering headlines for almost 10 years have been urging patience on this road to peace. Never give up, never fold in the face of terror.

It's a longer process than anyone would have predicted. Basically, it's now waiting for Arafat to tumble into his grave.

No, we won't forget those innocent victims that were cut down in their youth or the prime of life. That is why we need strong controls and reassurances that little by little, the lessons will be internalized. That means violence must stop BEFORE a state with open borders. Until then, a strong fence, please.
