Report: Blast on Tel Aviv bus
A explosion was heard at around 7 A.M. Sunday on Tel Aviv's Har Zion Street, close to the central bus station. An initial investigation suggested that the blast, caused by a small device, was a terror attack.

Army Radio reported that one person was critically hurt in the blast, and around a dozen were moderately or lightly injured.

The head of emergency medical services Yossi Cohen in Tel Aviv told Israel radio that it was possible that the explosion went off at a bus station - next to, and not on, the bus. Some of the passengers aboard the bus, which was on the Tel Aviv-Bat Yam route, were among the injured.

Magen David Adom emergency services said most of the injured were only slightly wounded. Four people have been evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, five to the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon and three to the Tel Hashomer Medical Center in Ramat Gan.

2. Do suicide bombers still get to go to heaven if no one dies?
Despite the tone of the question I'm not asking this flippantly... does anyone know how the people who support this belief interpret such a case? I suppose the self-sacrifice is what really counts, but I wonder.

<snip>

Attack occurred on Shderot Har Zion Blvd in the southern part of the city. MDA evacuated casualties to three hospitals in region. Police: Bomb detonated just as bus left station.

"An explosion rocked a bus stop in Tel Aviv this (Sunday) morning on Shderot Har Zion Blvd. One woman was killed in the presumed terror attack, at least 21 people were injured, four of them are in moderate to serious condition and the rest lightly injured.

MDA ambulances evacuated the injured to Ichilov Hospital, Wolfson Hospital and the medical center at Tel Ha’shomer.

According to Tel Aviv police chief Yossi Sedbon, “At this stage we believe that the bombing was a terror attack. There weren’t any specific alerts. The explosive device wasn’t large – it was planted on the floor between shrubs just as Dan bus number 26 left the station."

5. One death from the attack
Tel Aviv police chief Yossi Sedbon told Army Radio that evidence suggested Palestinian militants planted the device, which went off during morning rush hour.

"This was not a suicide bomber but a device planted next to the bus station in a bunch of weeds," Sedbon told Israel Radio.

A police spokesman said that the device was apparently planted in bushes adjacent to a bus station, and was detonated as the bus was leaving the station. The spokesman added that the device did not contain metal pieces, usually packed tightly around bombs to maximize their impact.
