Tel Aviv blast: 1 dead, 20 wounded
An explosion at a Tel Aviv bus stop has killed one woman and wounded more than 20 others, according to Tel Aviv police and Israeli emergency services.

Four of the injured are in a serious condition.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a military offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Palestinian security sources.

Israeli police said it was not a suicide attack, but the result of a bomb placed in the bushes near the bus stop, according to Tel Aviv police spokeswoman Shlomit Hertzberg.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon condemned the attack "by criminal Palestinian terrorists" and said it shows the need for Israel's controversial West Bank barrier, recently deemed in violation of international law by the the International Court of Justice. (Barrier 'illegal')

The bomb detonated around 7 a.m. (0500 GMT) as a bus approached the stop during rush hour at the start of the working week, she said.

23. Don't forget the tunnels.
We need an armored cellar under the whole place,
with hourly patrols all the time ...

3. So, someone threw a bomb over the wall, all the way to Tel Aviv?
That is an incredible feat. Because otherwise the wall obviously had no effect on things.

13. It's only a wall in some sectors. Mostly it's a fence - the Peace Fence.

7. Why does DU lock the thread with the Israeli terrorists attacking
But leave the thread with the Palestinian retaliation unlocked?

10. Israel is a U.S. ally
It's not blind to acknowledge that or admit that much of the Arab world wants to wipe them out.

11. Sigh...
It's blind to not admit that Israel does its best to avoid any realistic solution that would create a Palestinian state, and both sides of American politics happily suck up what ever Israel spits at them.

And ask yourself why this thread isn't locked, but the one about Israeli soldiers murdering a palestinian was locked before anyone could post?

12. Realistic solutions?
Tell me oh swami, what is a realistic solution that will end the terror attacks on Israel?

Both parties support Israel because the vast majority of Americans do the same.

If you have questions about management here, I am not the man to answer them. I suggest asking the administrators.

15. I asked and there was no reply
I see they locked a thread on Arafat and one on the Israeli terror attacks (allie my butt!). Yet this thread remains open because it is pro-israel. I find it odd that there would be such a blatant bias.

was anything but an unfortunate temporal coincidentality of
completely unrelated events having no relation to each other
whatsoever blah blah blah ...

Fortunately, I was here to correct you before you strayed too
far into error. :-)

wasn't exactly what I had in mind.. I'd have preferred it if both breaking news pieces had remained in place, at least a day or two.

Could some variation of the practice be adapted for that? Granted that the 379th editorial on somesuch doesn't need to make LBN more crowded than it usually is (except whenever The Dersh opens his mouth, that's usually noteworthy enough to make a spectacle of in the lighted room), but I would think that events such as this and its twin are a different matter..
