Dichter: Many Jews “actively wishing” for death of Sharon
http://www.maarivenglish.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=article&articleID=9971

ISA chief tells Knesset’s Defense Committee group consists of 150-200; majority of them live on West Bank while some from Gaza.

<snip>

"ISA chief Avi Dicther has again warned that radical Jewish elements threaten the life of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Dichter told members of the Knesset’s Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee this (Tuesday) morning that there are “between 150-200 Jews who actively wish for the death of the prime minister”.

According to Dicther, part of this radical group consists of members of the “youth on hilltops” (right wing youngsters who are known to roam on settlement hilltops). Most of these 150-200 people, he added, live on the West Bank while some are from the Gaza Strip. Dichter emphasized however that many elements within the “youth on hilltops” disapprove of this radicalization and view it as a threat.

Committee member Haim Ramon (Labor) said, “The next assassin could emerge from these guys”. When he asked Dichter: “If it would have been a Palestinian, would he be placed under administrative detention?”. Dichter replied: “Yes” and did not elaborate.

Former Defense Minster Benjamin Ben-Eliezer added, “It reminds me of the period just before the Rabin assassination. I don’t understand why they don’t nab these guys if information on them exists?"

5. It is the same crowd that danced on the streets when Rabin was murdered
sadly, many of them are American emigres.

I may hate Sharon and may want to see him tried for war crimes, but killing is always wrong not matter how "noble" it may seem to some.

3. Sounds good to me too.
I can't say I sit around and think about it a lot,
but heck yeah, time for new blood. (How's that for a
double entendre?)

6. 'actively wish' is a curious phrase to use..
Are they stockpiling bombs, or just praying really hard?

7. Averny described them as Sharon's golem.
As much as the man deserves to be hung by some sort of international court for his mass murder nothing would serve the gods of irony like watching his old, fat, self end at the hands of his creation.

8. Yeah, what does "passively wish" mean anyway?
Does it mean you are more or less wistful about it?
Does active mean you are considering methodology but have
not decided when to make the attempt?

9. Sharon needs jail not murder
He is too evil for it to be called assination. But jail would allow him to reflect on Shabri and Shatila and all the other crimes against humanity that fat bastard has committed. I really hate him....much more than I hate Bush, but murder is not the answer.

11. Bibi Netanyahu is to the right of Sharon
If Sharon is Al Capone, Bibi is Bugsy Siegel. The former is a plain thug, while the latter is a suave gangster.

12. maybe, but they hate him also
Among the serious settler right they hate Bibi also.

He had something to do with Oslo and that's their acid test of a friend or not a friend. They will ditch Likud and go NRP which isn't such a bad thing.
