"The Zionist enemy has assassinated the truce"
So said Hamas leader Ismail Hanieh after identifying the decapitated body of former Hamas leader Ismail Abu Shanab, who had been killed by an Israeli helicopter gunship.

http://www.usatoday.com/usatonline/20030822/5433828s.htm

The Israelis say the assassination was in retaliation for the Hamas sponsored bus bombing on Tuesday which killed 20 Israelis, including six children.
Apparently the Hamas leader didn't consider the killing of the 20 Israelis to be a violation of the truce.
I think we may have figured out the problem...
Oh, and by the way, Hamas is now promising to kill more Israelis because of their 'assassination of the truce'.

15. It's not very scientific
but I scored the headlines + or -.

Before 29th July Sharon meets Bush in Washington:
9+ , 2-

After 29th July:
2+ , 9-

Tom Delay is also in israel around this time, speech to Knesset 30th July

17. As a possible theory
let's assume that there is disputably some point to blair's existence, that he was able to steer bush* into a slightly more even-handed approach to I/P.

David Kelly's death happens on the 18th July and it starts to become clear that blair maybe politically fatally wounded (we hope).

The neo-cons start lobbying heavily against blair.

Sharon turns up in Washington on the 29th to see bush* and says "I don't know why you ever listened to that 'Third Way' loser. Oh, and by the way I'm going to do this, this, and this."

And bush* agrees.

3. I agree that the Palestinians
need their own homeland however peace will not be reached until the Palestinian authority starts to crack down on these militant groups.

8. You do know ..
that the recent bus bombing was committed by a militant from Hebron - which is under complete Israeli occupation and control, right? (there is literally nothing the PA could have done)

13. maybe, maybe not.
Maybe fighting Hamas in the territories would have stopped the bomb or maybe it wouldn't have. In any case Abbas didn't do anything. He signed an agreement saying he would try to dismantle the terrorist groups and the very next day swore that he would never do such a thing. How can you have a "dialogue" with someone who is completely, totally and in every way untrustworthy? Whenever there is a talk the Israelis are just negotiating with themselves because the Palestinians are just assumed not to keep their agreements. I saw an Israeli on TV say that Abbas and Arafat could either have peace with the terrorists or peace with Israel, but not both. Its obvious which one they have chosen every time.

4. goodness
Let's just wash away 6000 years of Jewish history with mythology. Not intellegent enough of a post to warrant a deeper answer. Besides, the neo-nazi/new left slogan is never let a fact get in the way of their world-view.

10. Deep what?
That's the question.

I'm old left, by the way, I'm still not sure Stalin was all bad,
he just had some issues with his methodology.
