Ralph Nader: Criticizing Israel is Not Anti-Semitism

I hand it to Ralph, he understands what real anti-Semitism is and agrees with me that Israel is practicing anti-Semitism against Palestinians and Arabs.

Your refusal to condemn bigoted language, cartoons, articles and statements in Israel up to the highest government levels, can be called serious insensitivity to "the other anti-Semitism." Both Jews and Arabs belong to the ancient Semitic tribes of the Middle East either genealogically or metaphorically. There is, as you know so well, anti-Semitism against Jews in many places in the world. There is, as you always ignore, aggressive anti-Semitism against defenseless Arabs in many places in the world and in Israel whose military might and nuclear weapons could destroy the entire Middle East in a weekend.

to hear reprehensible nader say is that he recognizes the grave threat bush poses to the world and that he urges all his supporters to vote for Kerry. I just don't care that he's right about some things.

4. Maybe I'm being naive

but I don't believe that. Just as SS is the third rail in domestic policy, just so is Israel in foreign policy. I still remember the shock I felt when Dean was roundly lambasted for merely suggesting a more even handed policy. That said, Kerry is not my ideal candidate, though it's near heretical to say that around here.
