Gaza City - A Palestinian policeman was shot dead by Israeli troops in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, bringing to 11 the number of people killed in a major Israeli incursion in the area, Palestinian medical sources said.
Iyad Abu Lihyeh, 27, was shot dead by Israeli troops in the southern city of Khan Yunis, they said.
His death raised to 4 525 the number of people killed since the second intifada began in September 2000, including 3 495 Palestinians and 956 Israelis.
In Gaza City on Sunday, two Palestinian security service members and four other Palestinians were killed in at least four Israeli missile strikes in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources and hospital officials said.
